One of the most basic projects you can do yourself at home is replacing a faucet. There are many different reasons you may decide to replace a faucet. You may be redoing your bathroom and want a new look that matches the rest of the upgrades. Or maybe there is something wrong with the faucet and it is just not working like it used to. Have you ever thought about all the little parts there are inside of your faucet though? Just because it is not working like it used to a few years ago does not mean it needs to be entirely replaced. Let our professional plumbing services offered here at Mesa Plumbers help you determine if you really need to replace your faucet or can just do a few minor repairs to make it seem brand new again.

One problem that occurs after having a faucet installed after a period of time is leaking around the knobs. We are talking about the knobs that control the pressure of the water and the temperature of it. If you do notice leaking around the knobs, this does not mean you need to completely replace the faucet. You will need to remove the knob coverings though. Once they are removed you will need to tighten the nut holdings for the knob so that there is no open space anymore. This is something that you can do yourself with a simple wrench.

Also, often after continuous use of a faucet there may be a problem with sputtering water. This is probably one of the easiest fixes you can do. Most likely this means that there is something blocking the flow of water from being as full as usual. You should simply remove the aerator from the tip of the faucet and clean it. After awhile this piece can become built up with tons of dirt and minerals from the water. A great way to clean the aerator is by placing it in some white vinegar or some lemon juice. These are both great organic ways to clean the aerator without having to worry about any chemicals going into your water. If the aerator is very dirty, you may want to think about replacing that one small piece. They do not cost too much and are available at any hardware store around you.

These of course are only two of the more simple problems that you may have with your faucet. There are many other problems you may have that you may be able to fix on your own rather than replacing the entire faucet. If you have any more questions about a problem with your faucet or think you need a professional plumber to come out and take a look, please feel free to call us at your earliest convenience. Our staff here at Mesa Plumbers are always available and ready to assist you with all of your needs.
